Turning A Closet Into A Meditation Room

One of my favorite movies ever is, War Room!

It’s a story about a woman who has a closet dedicated to praying. She lives by this room and believes that everyone should have one. The area helps strengthen faith and dedicates time to God. It’s a good faith based movie, I won’t give all the details away, but watch it!

Living in a studio, myself and my boyfriend can drive each other nuts, so we decided to create a meditation / prayer room. We call it the, “calmthef*downroom”. Our room is still a work in progress, but so far we love it. I’ve started decorating it and adding a few things to make it comfortable.

I used magazines to cut out quotes and words to stick on the wall. If you’ve been following my blog, then you know I love affirmations and stand by them.

In addition, I put pictures of green sceneries and homes! This is kind of like a vision board inside the room! Whenever we walk in, we are greeted by a reminder of all that we want to accomplish.

Since having our meditation room, I’ve noticed that I love going in there. I look forward to being in a quiet place to pray and meditate. I feel as if my meditation has gotten better now that I have a place dedicated to it. I feel instantly relaxed and calm when I walk in.

If you’re thinking of having a meditation or prayer room, DO IT.

You can use this space for any activity that gives you peace. I like to write in the area, listen to music or read! I can’t wait to one day own a home and have a full room dedication to meditation and relaxation.

Pictures to come soon! After it is finished, but here’s are pics of some of my favorite meditation / relaxation spaces!
